For six years, Taco in a Bag served up their gourmet “walking tacos” to Chicago. The decadent and rich toppings became a favorite for the area bar crowd. Patrons could get their walking tacos with a whole host of topping combos ranging from “traditional” chili based to hoisin braised chicken to buffalo chicken to a hot dog dish that’s a collaboration with Doug Sohn from Hot Doug’s.

The restaurant was founded by Pat “Deep Dish” Bertoletti and Tin “Gravy” Brown. Both were competitive eating champions before launching their food truck operation--Glutton Force Five. From there, they grew their business to the point that they opened Taco in a Bag as their first brick and mortar restaurants.

The restaurant had a young and playful personality that captured the millennial sense of humor. Everything from its murals on the walls to their social media posts to their superhero mascot embodied their slogan:  “Saving the World from Boring Food!” This restaurant’s delicious walking tacos and absurd disposition will be missed.
