Pub 626 was Rogers Park’s neighborhood corner tap for newer residents. Set across the street from the Morse L Station, it frequently would get locals stopping in on their way home after coming up from the Loop. Being one of many LGBTQ bars off the Morse stop, Pub 626 also had an engaged community of regulars who would spend many evenings with friends. the tight-knit community of regulars was always welcoming to anyone visiting the neighborhood for the first time who was stopping in for a drink. It wouldn’t have been out of place for a regular to approach you at the bar and say, “We usually know everyone in this bar and since we don’t know you, you must be from outside of Rogers Park! Welcome!”
The warm and friendly atmosphere of Pub 626 will leave the Morse stop never again the same.
